In most health care settings, whether in a hospital or the back of an ambulance, there will be an ambu bag present. When a person has stopped breathing and is suffering respiratory distress, an ambu bag will be used to give breaths, particularly to an unconscious person. This is referred to as "bagging." Ambu bags will often be used in conjunction with CPR, and while it is mainly trained health care providers who use this equipment, it is important for everyone to know use this potentially life-saving device.
Instructions
1. Place the ambu bag on the individual, with the point of the mask on the bridge of the nose and the larger portion of the mask resting above the chin.
2. Position one of your hands in such a manner that air is unable to escape around the edges of the mask. If air is able to escape, the ambu bag will be ineffective in providing oxygen to the person.
3. Place the bag part of the ambu right on your knee, as if it were resting there. This will make it easier to deliver the breaths when needed to the person.
4. Squeeze the ambu bag. Watch for the chest to rise and fall when giving the breaths. Failure to give adequate breaths to the person can do more harm than good.
5. Allow the ambu bag to fully inflate back to its original position before delivering another breath to the person.
6. Check the seal frequently to make sure that it is maintained around the person's nose and mouth.
There is smooth muscle tissue around the blood vessels of the body. When you are injured or have an infection, these smooth muscles contract and the flow of blood in the area becomes slower. When the flow of blood to an infected or injured part of the body is slowed, white blood cells start to stick to the capillary walls of the area. Endothelial cells are found in the walls of the small blood vessels (capillaries). The endothelial cells of the capillaries contract, which makes the capillary larger in diameter and more permeable. Molecules on the surface of the capillary endothelial cells attach to molecules (integrins) of the white blood cells. This makes the white blood cells flatten out. Once this happens, the white blood cells can squeeze through the capillary wall and into the surrounding tissue. The result is swelling or inflammation.
Kinins Destroyed
Kinins (polypeptide proteins) exist in the body and are linked to the contraction of the soft muscle tissue around capillaries. Meat tenderizers contain enzymes such as bromelain or papain. The bromelain and papain enzymes in meat tenderizer destroy the bonds between the atoms that make up the protein.
Swelling Is Reduced
Kinins are needed to make the soft tissue contract and to start the inflammation process. With the meat tenderizer effectively destroying the proteins around the soft muscle tissue, the soft muscle tissue doesn't contract. This means that the capillaries remain small and white blood cells are not pushed out into the surrounding tissues. As a result, inflammation doesn't occur because the proteins no longer exist that are needed to start the inflammation process.

Zegerid is a prescription medication that is a combination of omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and sodium bicarbonate is an antacid. The sodium bicarbonate helps the body to absorb the omeprazole more easily. This medication must be taken with water only while the stomach is empty at least an hour before eating.
Duodenal Ulcers
Zegerid is used to treat duodenal ulcers. These are ulcers that develop in the intestines.
Stomach Ulcers
Zegerid is also used to treat ulcers that develop in the stomach.
Erosive Esophagitis
Zegerid may also be prescribed to treat erosive esophagitis. Erosive esophagitis is a condition that occurs when the esophagus swells and becomes inflamed after repeated exposure to stomach acids backing up from the stomach.
GERD
Zegerid may be prescribed to help alleviate symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Side Effects
Some individuals who take Zegerid may experience coughing, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, rashes and possibly an upper respiratory infection.

Several laser therapy treatments can address crow's feet.
Cosmetic treatments are available for crow's feet, but laser therapy is drawing a lot of attention. Advances in technology have made nonsurgical techniques such as laser therapy more affordable and effective.
How it Works
Laser therapy that is used to treat facial wrinkles is referred to in the cosmetic surgery profession as "laser resurfacing." Mild to moderate strength lasers are used to remove the top layers of damaged skin, allowing younger and smoother skin to grow back in its place.
Benefits
Laser therapy has several benefits. Aside from working effectively on small- to moderate-size wrinkles, laser treatment can also be used to reduce the appearance of age or liver spots, and remove sun-damaged skin or old scars from past afflictions such as acne. However, just like Botox, the benefits of laser therapy are temporary.
Risks
As with any cosmetic procedure, risks come with using laser therapy to treat crow's feet. Some of these risks and complications include skin tones turning lighter or darker than normal, outbreak of cold sores if the virus is already present in your skin but dormant, acne flareup, and sometimes, in extreme cases, minor scarring.
Types of Lasers
More than one type of laser is used in laser therapy for facial wrinkles. Newer lasers tend to be a little safer and more efficient than older models, so the age of the laser is a good question to ask. Lasers also vary in strength, which can determine how many appointments are needed to get full effect.
Post Procedure
After getting laser treatment, the patient will have some side effects. If your skin gets raw and blisters, do not pop the blisters. Never pick at any scabs because that can lead to scars. You should also receive an ointment and dressing to apply to your skin for a few days. Wait for full recovery before going back into the sun.
In acupuncture, the body's own natural resources are marshaled to encourage healing and wellness. Thin needles are used to pierce the skin at various points. This process is said to boost the production of the body's natural pain-killers, and to speed recovery from illness. Some say that it may also be possible to lose weight through acupuncture. This approach has also been used to tackle a plethora of ailments, including bursitis, cerebral palsy, anxiety, poor eyesight and high blood pressure.

Lose Weight Through Acupuncture
1. Set realistic goals. Acupuncture can a useful part of a weight-loss plan, but do not expect it to be a cure-all for your problem. Plan on making lifestyle changes, such as altering your diet and exercising regularly, to lose weight. Acupuncture can help you stick to your guns by providing relief from the stress and frustration that can cause overeating.
2. Get proper care. Find a qualified acupuncturist in your region by visiting the Acufinder Web site (see Resources below).
3. Understand the factors that impact treatment frequency and duration. Severe overeating may require daily treatment for the first 5 days. For most people hoping to lose 5 to 10 pounds, a treatment every 3 days or twice a week until the target weight is reached will suffice. Frequent treatments end once the goal is reached.
4. Follow your acupuncturist's plan. If you veer off course by binging, missing several exercise sessions or skipping an acupuncture session, your overall treatment plan may need to be modified.
5. Keep seeing your acupuncturist once you reach your goal weight. Many acupuncturists recommend treatment with each change of season (4 times a year) to keep the body in balance.

Panicle hydrangeas combine well with other cut and dried flowers.
Hydrangea Paniculata, commonly known as panicle hydrangea, blooms in large clusters at the end of the stems from midsummer until fall. The elongated clusters, which bloom from the bottom upward, are called panicles. Often seen in dried and fresh flower arrangements, these flowers bloom white and mature or dry to light pink. Use small cultivars in foundation plantings and shrub borders. Train large cultivars into small trees by pruning off the lower stems.
Characteristics
Panicle hydrangea quickly grows to a height of 10 to 20 feet with an equal spread. The branches grow from a central point and arch, giving the shrub a fountain shape. The dark green, deciduous, 3- to 6-inch leaves have an oval shape with serrated margins. The fragrant, cone-shaped flower panicles grow 8 inches and longer in some cultivars. Clusters consist of tiny fertile flowers on the inside and showy, sterile flowers on the outside. Dry, brown seed capsules form after the flowers fade. The seed capsules are not ornamental. Panicle hydrangeas tolerate salt and urban pollution.
Requirements and Care
Panicle hydrangeas are care-free shrubs when the environment meets their basic growing requirements. They need a moist but well-drained soil that is loose and fertile but contains some organic matter. Plant them in full sun or partial shade. They benefit from afternoon shade in hot areas. Keep the soil moderately moist during the growing season. Use a thick mulch to keep the roots cool. Prune panicle hydrangeas in late winter or early spring to control their shape and rangy growth habit. Panicle hydrangeas are hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture Hardiness Zones 3 through 8.
Cultivars
PeeGee hydrangeas get their common name from the initials P. G. for paniculata 'Grandiflora.' This lovely, old-fashioned shrub has a suckering and layering habit that sometimes makes it hard to control. 'Barbara' or 'The Swan' produces the longest panicles and has petals as much as five times larger than other varieties. For a shorter shrub choose 'Kyushu,' which reaches a height of only 6 feet and has pointed panicles. 'Little Lamb' is another short variety that has the tiniest petals of any cultivar giving the flowers a delicate appearance. 'White Moth' has panicles almost as long as 'The Swan's,' with flowers that turn green instead of pink when they mature.
Drying Flowers
Panicle hydrangeas dry well for winter arrangements. Cut flowers that are free of blemishes and remove the leaves before drying. Tie the stems in bunches and hang them upside down in a dry area, out of direct sunlight until dry. Alternatively, you can create your arrangement in a vase with 1 inch of water in the bottom. Set the vase out of direct sunlight. As the water evaporates, the flowers dry.

Buy enough life insurance so that your family won't be stuck with your debts after you die. There are many different kinds of life insurance policies on the market to help you accomplish this. However, one of the most popular permanent life insurance policies being sold is universal life insurance. Universal life insurance offers you a combination of term life and whole life insurance. But, before you buy into this complex financial product, make sure you understand how it works.
Instructions
1. Read your insurance policy. The policy contract explains the basic mechanics of the insurance policy. Premiums are paid into the policy's cash value. The company then invests the cash value according to the terms of the contract. The company subtracts the cost of insurance from the cash value and credits the policy with interest according to what the cash value has earned for that month. This happens every month until, or unless, there is no more cash value available in the policy. When the policy cash value reaches zero, the policy terminates.
2. Contact the life insurance company that you purchased your policy from. Life insurance company representatives may be able to send you additional information about your particular life insurance contract. There are, generally, three types of universal life insurance. The first kind is a fixed universal life insurance policy that pays a fixed rate of return based on the the investments in the insurer's general account. Indexed universal life pays interest based on the upward movement of a stock market index. Variable universal life insurance pays interest based on mutual fund investments.
3. Take out a book on life insurance from your local library. Look for books written by actuaries, that is, professional mathematicians who design life insurance policies. A book written by an actuary also gives you the benefit of a non-biased source of information, as opposed to talking to a life insurance salesman. A book can illustrate the details of how universal life insurance works. For example, a book will explain how universal life insurance is technically a combination of term life insurance and a cash value savings. It can break down the cost of insurance inside of a universal life insurance policy, how the insurer determines that cost and how it can raise or lower those costs. It will also explain how insurers invest your cash values.

The itch from a mosquito bite is annoying and almost unbearable for some people. Depending on where you are, getting rid of the itch can be as simple as applying an everyday item found in the household. Follow these easy steps and you will be itch-free.
Instructions
1. Spray antihistamine spray on the area. You can purchase this spray at any supermarket and most convenience stores. The spray will take the itch away within minutes.
2. Put toothpaste on the site of the mosquito bite. The fluoride in the toothpaste acts as an antihistamine and will take the itch out of the bite in a matter of minutes.
3. Rub antihistamine cream on the bitten area. Like the allergy pills you take orally, antihistamine cream is designed to combat the effects of adverse reactions to pollen, mold and, of course, the bite or sting of a flying critter. Like the toothpaste, it will take the itch out of the mosquito bite.
4. If you're outdoors and you have no other supplies, put mud on the bite. It will cool it and take the itch away. This isn't the cleanest remedy ever designed, but it's sure to work in a pinch.
5. If you have no other options, hold an ice cube to the bite. It won't take the itch away permanently, but it will numb the area and remedy the itch for a moment.

Nutrition labels can be confusing. Bread labels are no exception. Here you can learn simplify and understand your reading of their nutrition labels.
Instructions
1. Look for the Nutrition Facts label on the back of the package. Regardless of health or ingredient claims, breads will have this label. These panels are set up to give consumers information about the amount of certain nutrients in one serving of the food. Serving size is usually one slice for loaf bread, but for unsliced breads, the serving size might be given by weight. Total calories and calories from fat for that serving are next on the list.
2. Get a handle on the "% Daily Value" concept. The values for fat, carbohydrates and some vitamins and minerals are given in both amount per serving and % Daily Value (%DV). This might be the most confusing part of the label. It’s based on a theoretical person who consumes 2000 calories/day. That 2000-calorie person requires certain amounts of vitamins and minerals. That person should limit fat, sodium and cholesterol. If you typically eat less than 2000 calories, your % Daily Values will be slightly different. There is no daily value for either protein or sugars, which are listed as amount per serving. If you’re limiting sugar, comparing grams of sugar per serving between different brands might help you make a choice.
3. Use the %DV to evaluate ingredient claims on the front of the package. If the bread label says “high protein”, then the protein value must include a % DV. This rule is true for other nutrients like calcium or fiber. For some nutrients, there is no DV. In that case, no claims can be made. Omega-3 fats are a good example of this issue. You might see “contains omega-3 fats” on the front of the bread, but so far, you will not see "high in omega-3 fats". That’s because there is no DV for omega-3 fats, and so no way to evaluate what is "high" and what isn't.
4. Be wary about some nutrition claims. "Free” or "0 %" doesn't always mean zero content. If a bread has less than 0.5 grams of sugar or fat per serving, it can be labeled as “free” of these, even though there is a small amount. If you eat more than one serving, such as using 2 slices of bread for a sandwich, you could be getting 1 gram of fat from your "fat free" bread. Low sodium bread must have less than 140 mg/serving; very low sodium is limited to 35 mg/serving, and low calorie is limited to 40 calories per serving. Technically, a bread can just be sliced extra thin to reduce the calories per serving, by making the slices smaller. To check on that, check the weight of the serving size, listed at the top of the panel. If one bread slice weight 1 oz, and the “low calorie” bread weighs ½ oz, you aren’t really getting a diet bargain, just a smaller slice.
Digestive disorders are becoming increasingly common throughout the USA, mainly due to poor diet, lack of exercise and stress. There are at least 100 million patients in the USA and Canada that have recurrent, long-term gastrointestinal symptoms. More than 80 million people in North America suffer from irritable bowel syndrome. Abdominal pain, distension with excess gas, constipation and diarrhea are the four prominent symptoms. Other digestive disorders are common - heartburn afflicts 44% of Canadians & Americans; peptic ulcer disease has an incidence of 8% and non-ulcer dyspepsia afflicts 20-40%.Most members of this large group will self-medicate and suffer long-term. Digestive disorders are common diseases that often originate in the food supply.
Instructions
Treat DigestiveDisorders With Lovage
1. Consider a natural approach to treating your digestive complaints. Lovage (Levisticum officinale) is a large perennial herb with thick, hollow stems that can grow up to 1.5 meters tall. It has large leave split into wedge shaped segments. Its clusters of yellow flowers produce small ribbed fruits. The whole plant has a strong scent reminiscent of angelica or celery.
2. Use lovage as a culinary herb in salads, or soups. A few leaves before a meal will aid digestion. Use sparingly so its flavor wont drown out the taste of other ingredients.
3. Make a digestive tonic. Add 0.2 oz. lovage, 0.2 oz. mint, 0.7 oz. fennel. Boil in 1 pint of water and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Strain and bottle drink while warm or chill with ice.
4. Collect lovage seeds by cutting the stems while the seeds are still green. Hang upside down inside a brwon paper back. As the pods ripen and split the bag will collect teh seeds. Lovage seeds make a great addition to bread and pastries.
To successfully lose weight, most people benefit from eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly. However, for many other people, neither diet nor exercise can solve their problems with body weight. Gastric bypass surgery was developed to treat morbid obesity in people who are unable to lose weight through diet and exercise alone.
History
A type of bariatric surgery first developed in the 1960s, the gastric bypass procedure relies upon partial stomach removal to help obese individuals lose weight permanently. By decreasing the size of the patient's stomach, the amount of food a person can eat is limited and she is therefore more apt to lose weight. In addition to weight loss, the procedure helps reduce medical problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.
Considerations
Despite its benefits, gastric bypass surgery is not the right option for all obese patients. In order to qualify for the operation, the patient must be between the ages of 18 and 65, have been obese for at least five years, have no history of alcohol abuse and no untreated depression or other mental disorders. In addition, because of the risks associated with the procedure, gastric bypass surgery should only be considered by individuals with a body mass index (BMI) over 39.
Benefits
Individuals who undergo gastric bypass surgery typically lose 50 to 60 percent of their body weight within the first two years. If a proper diet and exercise regime is followed, most people are able to keep the weight off. The procedure is also proven to help prevent, treat and even resolve conditions such as adult-onset diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea and reflux disease. And, following gastric bypass procedures, most patients report improved mobility and increased happiness.
Misconceptions
With an average cost of $15,000 to $25,000, gastric bypass surgery is certainly not cheap. Many people incorrectly believe that insurance companies will not cover the gastric bypass procedure. However, many policies do cover treatment for morbid obesity. For gastric bypass surgery to be approved, most insurance companies will require the individual to provide detailed records of diet and medical history. In addition, the insurance provider may also request the patient to submit to certain medical and/or psychological tests. For patients denied insurance, the operation costs can usually be financed and paid in monthly installments.
Warning
As with any type of surgery, the gastric bypass procedure has both risks and benefits. Although the operation can result in weight loss and reduced medical risks, health problems such as stomach leakage, infection, gallstones and nutritional deficiency can also occur. In addition, 1.5 percent of all individuals who undergo the surgery die following the operation.
Many people have occasional leg aches which are often caused by strain or over use. However chronic leg aches can also be a symptom of a more serious problem which will require medical attention. For the occasional leg ache there are some things that you can do at home to help relive the pain.
Instructions
1. Identify the cause of the pain. If you know that you did an extra hour at the gym today or you twisted your leg while unloading groceries then you know the pain you are feeling is probably muscular and temporary. On the other hand if you can not identify the cause or if the pain has been chronic then you need to see a doctor.
2. Apply ice to the area of the leg that hurts. Use an ice pack or put ice cubes into a clean towel and hold the ice on the leg for twenty minutes at a time. Repeat every two hours until you get relief from the pain.
3. Try heat, like an electric heating pad, which can also be helpful for getting relief from a leg ache. You can also use a hot water bottle or an over the counter heat rub. Don't use a heat rub at the same time as a heating pad or bottle. This can cause burns. You might want to alternate the heat and ice.
4. Massage the aching leg. Massage can not only provide pain relief, but it will also help blood to move to the area which will speed up the healing process of the injured muscle.
5. Take an over the counter pain relief medication. Ibuprofen and Naproxen are good for relief of leg aches. Be sure to follow package directions and never take more than the recommended dose.

A herniated disc is also referred to as a bulging disc, ruptured disc or slipped disc. As the disc deteriorates, the inner core leaks back into the spinal canal. This is the portion of the disc that actually bulges, with the membrane covering of the disc being the part that has ruptured or herniated.
Significance
Approximately 90 percent of herniated discs occur in the L4 or L5 lumber region or lower part of the back. Cervical herniated discs, or herniated discs of the upper part of the back, occur 10 percent of the time.
Symptoms
A herniated disc often causes pain in the lower back, buttocks, leg and foot area. It also causes these areas to tingle and become numb. The location of the pain depends on which disc is weak. The amount of pain depends on how severely the disc is pressing on the spinal or sciatic nerve.
Causes
Simply growing older is one thing that leads to a herniated disc. The water content of the inner disc dries up or is lost, and this makes it easier for the outer covering to rupture. As the disc is now more grainy than cushiony, it leaks out of the rupture. You should now more than ever take care in how you lift objects and perhaps try not to lift very heavy objects.
Treatments --- Mild Cases
The first step in treatment is to see your doctor. Together you can decide what treatment is right for you. Almost certainly, you will need an MRI for him to make a proper diagnosis. If your pain is not too great, he may prescribe pain relieving medication for you. This can include over the counter pain killers, or for more severe pain, a prescription pain killer. He will likely tell you to rest and avoid strenuous activities. He might also recommend stretching exercises, hot or cold therapy, traction or electrical stimulation.
Treatment --- Severe Cases, Without Surgery
If the MRI and the amount of pain suffered justify it, your doctor will refer you to a neurosurgeon for treatment. The neurosurgeon might treat you with a nerve block, which will temporarily relieve the pain for a period of weeks to months. This could be long enough for the pain to be reduced naturally to a bearable level.
Treatment --- Severe Cases, Endoscopic Surgery
There are two types of surgery: minimal invasive surgery and decompression surgery. In minimal invasive surgery, called endoscopic or endoscopic diskectomy, a small incision is made in your back. This allows the surgeon to use suction or small tools to evacuate the leakage from the disc. A small camera is used for the surgeon to see his work, so that no bone is cut. The wound is closed with a small bandage.
Treatment --- Severe Cases --- Decompression Surgery
With decompression surgery there are two choices. With a diskectomy, you have a larger incision and part of the disc is removed. The doctor may also remove a small part of the area called the facet joint that might be pressing on the spinal nerve.
A microdiskectomy might be performed. This is similar to a standard diskectomy except a smaller incision is made. The surgeon performs the operation while looking through a microscope, removing damaged portions of the disc.

Electric muscle stimulation, known as Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), is the process in which muscle tone and strength is restored to those going through physical therapy. NMES allows those in physical therapy, who otherwise would not be able to exercise in the usual manner, still develop muscle tone by using electrical muscle contraction.
How the Machinary Works
The NMES machine works by conducting electrical currents from the machine to the muscle at a safe current rate. The process starts by placing self-adhesive electrodes to the motor points of the desired muscle or muscle system. The dial on the machine is slowly adjusted until the patient can feel the current passing through the skin and into the muscle. The higher the setting on the dial, the faster the muscle will contract and relax. This process is continued for a varied amount of time dependent on how large of muscle the NMES is trying to stimulate.
How Muscles Normally Work
In most people, muscles tone and strength are developed through exercising the muscle physically. The process starts by the brain sending a signal through the spinal cord and to the nerves of the muscle. This signal tells the muscles to expand or contract. As the muscles continue to expand and contract, the tissue begins to break down. Once your body stops contracting the muscle, it will automatically start building the muscle tissue back up. The muscle will also make the tissue stronger to better face contractions in the future.
How Muscles Work Using NMES
With NMES, instead of your brain sending a signal to your muscles through the spinal cord, the NMES machine electrically stimulates the nerves attached to the muscle at the motor point. Once the nerves are stimulated, they cause the muscle to expand and contract, much in the same way as conventional exercise. This allows those who are unable to exercise in the traditional manner still gain greater strength and muscle mass.
Reasons to Use Electrical Muscle Stimulation
NMES can be used for a variety of reasons including increasing blood circulations to the muscle, relaxing muscle spasms, prevention of muscle atrophy in patients unable to use parts of their body, prevention of venous thrombosis after surgery, and increasing range of motion.
Facial warts are an infectious skin growth caused by the human papillomavirus. While the HPV infection is very common, there is also no cure. There are several kinds of warts, but flat warts frequently appear on the face. Flat warts are smooth and small and are found around the eyes, nose, and mouth. Warts are harmless and usually go away after a time. However, many people find warts unattractive and embarrassing, so there are many commercial, medical and natural remedies available to remove facial warts.
Instructions
1. Apply commercial ointments. Many people are familiar with the ads for Compound W, a popular commercial wart remover. However, there are other brands like Dr. Scholl's products and TinaMed Wart Remover on the market that remove warts as well. In most commercial products use salicylic acid as the main ingredient, but other mild acids are used as well. The acid helps to slough off or wear away the layers of the warts until they disappear. Wart removers are available as a liquid, gel, cream or pads. Follow the directions on the label.
2. Try cryosurgery kits. The latest type of wart removers are at-home cryosurgery kits, similar to what is used in a doctor's office. With cryosurgery you use liquid nitrogen to freeze off the wart. Be certain to carefully follow the instruction with any over-the-counter wart remover you buy.
3. Use aspirin. The aspirin sold in drugstores contains salicylic acid, the same ingredient found in many over-the-counter wart removers. To use aspirin as a wart remover, dissolve a few tablets in water and apply the mixture to the wart. Repeat a few times a day.
4. Use natural acids. Using natural remedies is a safer way to get rid of warts. As with commercial products, a mild acid is used. All natural remedies are applied topically to the wart once or twice a day. Vinegars contain acetic acid so white vinegar and apple cider vinegar are both used to treat warts. Lemon juice and grapefruit juice both have citric acid that can be used on facial warts. Garlic juice from fresh cloves is a folk remedy to try.
5. Try essential oils. Some essential oils are credited with wart removal. Lemon balm oil has citric acid. Birch oil has betulinic acid. Tea tree oil and dandelion oil also have their advocates as wart removers.
6. See a doctor. For stubborn warts, medical intervention may be required. Doctors use chemical peels to get rid of facial warts. The chemical frequently used is trichloroascetic acid. Doctors also use electrical current to remove warts. In electrocautery, the wart is burned off. Another option is laser surgery that uses a beam of light. The cryosurgery performed in a doctor's office uses a stronger version of the liquid nitrogen found in at-home kits. For these medical treatments, you need to find a cosmetic surgeon or a dermatologist.
Toxic hepatitis is inflammation of the liver caused by toxic chemicals including medications and drugs. Toxic hepatitis can occur within hours to months of exposure of toxic chemicals. Symptoms of toxic hepatitis include jaundice, weight loss, dark urine, nausea, and fatigue. Toxic hepatitis symptoms can be severe but usually lessen once the toxic agent is removed. Toxic hepatitis left untreated may lead to cirrhosis or liver cancer. The treatment for toxic hepatitis will depend on the toxic agent involved.
Instructions
Treat Toxic Hepatitis
1. Avoid exposing yourself to any toxic agents. Since toxic agents include pesticides and industrial chemicals, it is important to discuss your lifestyle with the doctor. This will prevent further liver damage and reduce current symptoms.
2. Monitor your medications with the doctor. Be sure to take medications in moderation and as prescribed. Some medications are associated with liver problems.
3. Have regular liver function tests. This will allow the doctor to monitor treatment success. It may take several months before symptoms subside.
4. Eat a balanced diet. Your body will be weakened from enduring toxic hepatitis and will need proper nutrition to heal. Consult with your doctor regarding the correct caloric and nutrient balance to avoid further compliations.
5. Limit alcohol use. Using alcohol can cause more damage to the healing liver.
6. Consider a liver transplant. In severe cases of toxic hepatitis, a liver transplant may be the only treatment.
When doctors diagnose hypercortisolism, they are diagnosing Cushing's syndrome, a condition characterized by the over production of cortisol, or the excessive use of this hormone in the body. Cortisol is produced in the adrenal glands. Cushing's syndrome will cause an excess production of adrenocorticotropic hormone, known as ACTH by the pituitary gland, which in turn stimulates the overproduction of cortisol.
Instructions
1. Know the most common symptoms of hypercortisolism. This includes a moon face, which is a face that is full, red and rounded. Another common symptom is a fat that collects between the shoulders, obesity which presents itself in a extended abdomen and thinner arms and legs.
2. Spot additional symptoms of hypercortisolism, which may be found in some patients. This includes weight gain, weakness, pain in the back and back, acne or skin infections and mental changes in moods.
3. Seek diagnosis from your doctor, which may be as simple as seeing you. In patients that are experiencing the condition because of a medicine they are taking, a doctor will know to stop the medication when these symptoms are seen.
4. Test blood and urine for hypercortisolism. When there is no medication that is causing the symptoms, doctors will need to take blood and urine samples to test them for the condition. Doctors will need to use these tests to rule out other, similar conditions.
5. Examine the results of further testing to make an effective diagnosis of hypercortisolism. This includes a cranial MRI or a Cranial CT scan, an in depth scan of the head to spot tumors on the pituitary gland. Additionally, doctors will do a CT scan of the abdominal region as there can be an adrenal mass located here as well. Diagnosis is often confirmed by these tests and other symptoms that you have.

Tamoxifen is a drug meant to reduce levels of estrogen. Men may take this drug, which is prescribed under the brand name of Nolvadex, among others, for a variety of reasons. The most common reason is as a treatment for male breast cancer. Men who take anabolic steroids may also take the drug either during or after their steroid cycle to prevent an estrogen rebound effect and reduce the chances of getting gynocemastia, or excess breast tissue. While the drug is relatively safe, there are some side effects that a user should be aware of.
Headaches
Headaches are among the most common side effects for male tamoxifen users. Estrogen is certainly not as prevalent in men as it is in women, but it is still an important hormone. When it is reduced or eliminated, the body will react, at least in the short term. This can definitely lead to headaches, which can be treated by either lowering the dose or with a moderate amount of an over-the-counter painkiller such as ibuprofen or Tylenol.
Nausea
Tamoxifen sometimes causes nausea in men who take the drug. If this occurs, the best treatment is to tell your physician and have her prescribe a mild, anti-nausea medication. Another step is to eat small, frequent meals rather than three big meals.
IGF Inhibition
Those who take tamoxifen as an anti-estrogen following a cycle of anabolic steroids should be aware of research that shows the drug inhibits IGF in the body, which is a natural growth hormone. This means that bodybuilders could be looking at reduced muscle gains by using the drug.
Blood Clots
While very rare, tamoxifen has been linked to a blood clots in both men and women. These can come both in the form of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. If taking the drug and you experience chest pains with or without an accompanied shortness of breath, you should contact emergency help at once.
Lowered Libido
Lowering the levels of estrogen in the body may trick the body into producing less testosterone as well. This is because the human body is always looking to create stasis and balance. When one hormone is thrown out of whack, the body will attempt to bring the ratios back to an appropriate level. If this happens, men could be looking at reduced libido, and possibly even impotence.

Instead of plain old orthodontic braces, consider trying different braces colors. With all the different types of orthodontic braces available nowadays, kids can choose braces colors for their favorite sports team or for the school they attend. Adults who don't want braces colors can get clear orthodontic braces so they are not noticeable. There are many colors and combinations available for braces colors. Here's a few tips for choosing braces colors.
Instructions
1. You can get just about any color combination for orthodontic braces. Try one color and then if you don't like it, try different braces colors at your next orthodonist visit. Since orthodontic braces are not a permanent fixture on your teeth, the braces colors can be changed every time you visit the orthodonist. This can be done once the orthodontic braces have settled on the teeth. The braces colors are changed by simply changing the O rings that fit around the brackets of the braces. Changing colored braces every visit does not cause any pain. Some people also like to change the color for their orthodontic braces seasonaly or to correspond with a holiday. If you know the braces colors that you want to try next, you should tell your orthodontist ahead of time so you can be sure the colored braces that you want will be available.
2. Find out what braces colors are available. Ask if they have a color selector that you can use to help assist in comparing all the different braces colors. It's important to know that colored braces will look slightly different from the color sample after they are installed. You don't have to choose only one color for your braces. You might want to try a variety of color combinations to find something you like. Rainbow colors are a popular choice when kids get colored braces.
3. Choose darker colored braces and you might want to avoid getting lightered colored braces. The white braces colors tend to highlight your teeth too much and they can even make yellow stains, defects and food colors on your teeth more noticeable. If you go with darker colors like green or red, these things will not be as noticeable. Choose any braces colors you want, but white does tend to highlight things more easily.
4. And if you don't want any braces colors at all you can choose clear or tooth-colored braces. This way the braces colors will blend in with your teeth and be less noticeable. Some people like gold, metal or silver colored brackets for the braces but if you don't want that you can choose translucent ones with clear wire on them. Colored braces such as the tooth-colored ones or clear braces, are the most popular with adults who do not want them to be as noticeable. They do not stain easily but they are not as durable as metal ones.

An infectious condition, Lyme disease is caused by at least three separate bacteria species. In the United States, Borrelia burgdorferi is the bacteria primarily responsible for this disease. It is transferred to humans via ticks that are infected with the bacteria.
Early Signs
Early signs of Lyme disease include: headache, fever, fatigue and depression. A person with this condition may display some or all of these signs.
Skin Rash
Erythema migrans is a characteristic skin rash of those suffering from Lyme disease. This rash might appear as soon as a day after the tick bite or as long as a month later. It is the first visible sign of the presence of the bacteria.
Antibiotics
Early treatment of antibiotics for lyme disease many times alleviate the symptoms. However, this is not true in all cases. Sometimes fatigue, cognitive problems and sleep difficulties develop and are not relieved with antibiotics.
Delayed Treatment
When Lyme disease is not treated in the early stages, it may affect the heart, joints, eyes, brain and nervous system.
Progressed Symptoms
In the late stages of progressed Lyme disease, further disabling symptoms may arise including: bladder problems, facial palsy, vertigo and, in some rare cases, psychosis.

The first time many Americans ever heard of coffee enemas was when Janet Jackson said that she used them. Coffee enemas, according to the Gerson Institute, were first proposed in 1920 by Max Gerson to clean out dangerous toxins that accumulated in the liver. He also used coffee enemas to treat cancer patients. Coffee stimulates the liver to produce more bile, thereby cleaning toxins from the body. Since then, people have been wondering if coffee enemas are a good weight loss tool.
Can coffee enemas help with weight loss?
Function
The purpose of coffee enemas is to detoxify the body, according to an article about coffee enemas on the Article Insider website. Coffee enemas will help you to lose some weight fast, according to this site. The reason is that when your body rids itself of toxins, a lot of built up wastes that could be as heavy as 10 or 15 pounds will be gone. In addition, according to the I Need Coffee website, coffee enemas will relieve constipation, which leads to quick, albeit, temporary weight loss. According to the I Need Coffee site, coffee enemas will give you a heightened sense of well-being with the release of toxins or constipation.
How To
You can give yourself a coffee enema. You need to use organic, non-decaffeinated coffee, an enema kit, a pot jug and 1.5 liters of purified or filtered water. Put 2 teaspoons of coffee powder and 0.5 liters of water into the pot and boil for 10 or 15 minutes. Then pour into the jug with the remaining water. Test the temperature of the water to make sure it is not hot. Pour into the enema kit, and follow the instructions on the kit.
Considerations
The first time you do this, you may only be able to tolerate half the solution. That is fine. Do not push yourself, according to the Article Insider information. Also, while you should try to hold the solution in for 10 minutes, it is OK if you cannot do that at first. You will get used to it.
Expert Insight
All of the cited articles say any weight loss achieved is because of the release of toxins or stool. In addition, according to the Quack Watch website, frequent enemas can lead to dependence on them. If you have persistent constipation, you should consult with a doctor. The FDA makes it illegal to market colonic irrigation systems. These systems are not approved for colon cleansing, according to Quack Watch.
Warning
The danger of these types of colon cleansing systems is on how often they are used, according to Quack Watch. They also warn that colon cleansing should never substitute for necessary medical care.

Eastern tradition says that the spleen plays a vital role in digestion. It transforms the foods and liquids you consume into qi (life energy), blood and other bodily fluids. Like a domino effect, when spleen qi is deficient it weakens other organ systems in your body. This deficiency can be caused by overwork, poor diet, lack of exercise, or obsessive thinking. Compulsive worrying is the primary cause of spleen qi vacuity. The resolving emotion is trust. Learning to trust instead of worry works to charge, rather than stagnate, spleen qi. Certain qigong exercises also stimulate spleen qi.

The Stretch
1. Stand with your feet shoulder's width apart. Hold both hands out about six inches from your navel as if you're embracing an invisible ball. Inhale deeply.
2. Slowly exhale while rotating your left forearm away from your body and raising the arm up toward the sky (in the end your palm should look as if you're pressing up against something directly overhead). Simultaneously rotate your right forearm down toward the earth and press the whole arm downward (in the end your palm should look like it's pressing down against something directly beneath you). Hold briefly.
3. Gradually reverse your movements and bring your hands back to the center as though embracing the ball. Inhale deeply.

Chinese herbs have been used for thousands of years to treat medical conditions.
Chinese herbal medicine is the term for using herbs to treat medical conditions or restoring a person's energy, body and spirit. With more than 3,200 herbs and 400 formulas, Chinese herbology relies on numerous herbal combinations, in the form of pills, powders, tonics and teas, to relieve medical conditions, notes the American Cancer Society. Traditional Chinese medicine treats the symptoms of an illness, rather than the causes.
Asian Ginseng
Asian ginseng, an herb native to China and Korea, has been a staple in Chinese herbal medicine for centuries, according to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Ginsenosides are the chemical agents in ginseng, which herbal practitioners believe are responsible for the herb's health benefit. Asian ginseng is used for a number of conditions, including the relief of menopause symptoms, erectile dysfunction, emotional imbalances and low stamina. The ginseng's root is normally dried before use, and may be brewed into tea, added to creams or placed inside capsules. Typical side effects from Asian ginseng use are disrupted sleep patterns, headaches and gastrointestinal problems.
Wolfberry
Wolfberry, a deciduous perennial plant native to the northwest region of China, produces a reddish-orange fruit considered very important in Chinese herbal medicine, based on information from Phytochemicals. Acknowledged for its health benefits for thousands of years, wolfberry is often used in teas, soup or as a general tonic to improve vision, reduce leg weakness and maintain liver health. Additional medicinal applications include anti-aging properties and increasing the health of the immune system. The wolfberry fruit may be consumed fresh or dried, and the leaves of this herb are sometimes eaten as a vegetable.
Ginger
While ginger is known for its use as a spice in many food recipes, it is also used in Chinese herbal medicine to treat several conditions. The underground stems of the herb can be used dried or fresh, brewed as a tea or made into a liquid extract. Ginger is an ingredient in various cold, flu and nausea supplements sold in the United States, and the stems are used to treat stomach aches, rheumatoid arthritis and diarrhea. Short-term medicinal use of ginger is proven to relieve nausea and vomiting related to pregnancy, indicates the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Protruding ears can be an embarrassing feature for anyone to live with. Causes occur at birth to development later in life. There is medical treatment available for protruding ears. It is a recognized irregularity now, and many are choosing to have it corrected.
Features
Protruding ears come in many forms, on a variety of people and for different reasons. Infants can be born with protruding ears or folded ears and some will develop normal ear shape after birth, others will not. Some protruding ears seem to have a Dumbo-like appearance, while others protrude from the lobe like abnormally elongated lobes. Ears can protrude due to a falling over of the upper ear like a flopped-over ear. As people age the tissue of the ear (cartilage) can build up and cause the appearance of protruding ears.
Identification
There are many causes for protruding ears ranging from genetics or birth defects to trauma or nerve damage. Many infants are born with protruding, floppy or abnormal ears. For infants it can be just a developmental defect; protruding ears are the most common birth defect in infants because of the very delicate process of their development in the womb. A baby can be born with abnormal-looking ears and be perfectly healthy and eventually grow out of the protruding ears. In some infants, flopped over and protruding ears are a sign of a greater chromosomal abnormality and are usually a doctor's first sign along with widely spaced eyes to do chromosomal testing. Protruding ears along with other physical defects can be a sign of Down syndrome and other chromosomal disorders. In adults, trauma to the ear or side of the head can damage the delicate cartilage of the ear and cause protruding or flopping. Most commonly seen in boxing as cauliflower ear, this is a form of permanent protruding from repeated trauma to the cartilage of the ear. Nerve disorders like Bell's palsy can cause drooping of the ears because of the loss of facial nerve function usually on one side of the face, causing the entire side to droop. The cartilage in the human body never stops growing, although it is at an extremely slow rate as we age; ears and noses continue to get larger. In some people as they age the ears become so large that they will start to protrude, more so in people who had larger ears to begin with.
Types
Protruding ears are normally defined by how they look. Some, like those mentioned in Section 2, develop a permanent swelling of the cartilage due to trauma, which causes the ear to stick out because the upper portion of the ear swells. Specialists refer to ears with elongated lobes as bat ears. Folded ears are noted in children with Down syndrome and fetal alcohol syndrome. Genetics will cause what is known as true protruding ears, which are when the folds of the cartilage have not developed normally, causing the ear to stick out from the side of the head. All of these types of protruding can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing, but most can be treated.
Benefits
Cosmetic surgery is the treatment option for protruding ears. The operation is called an otoplasty, and should be performed by a cosmetic surgeon, an ear nose and throat surgeon, or an otolaryngologist that does this type of surgery. For true protruding ears an incision is made behind the ear, the fold is reshaped to pull the ear closer to the head and then sewn back up with dissolving stitches. This type of operation takes about two hours under local or general anesthetic. Most people recover fully in about five days and the bruising and swelling are gone in about three weeks. This operation can safely be done on children as young as 5. A similar operation can be done with a plastic surgeon for elongated lobes in which they remove the extra cartilage and tighten the skin to form a smaller lifted lobe. In children with chromosome disorders causing flopping ears, they can be corrected but not until the age of 5 or 6. Children's ears have reached adult size by age 6 and a size difference will not be noticed between age 6 and 40 or 50. It is normally in our 60s and up when we notice slightly larger noses and ears. Cartilage damage from trauma is something that can also be corrected by surgery but if the trauma continues to occur like in boxing, then there is no point in having it corrected until you will no longer be exposed to the trauma.
Considerations
If left untreated, protruding ears in children can cause them to suffer great ridicule and teasing throughout school, which can have serious effect on their self-esteem and confidence as they get older. Children with folded ears will have trouble hearing and this can affect speech and mental development, so it is important to have them in special education programs until they are old enough for surgical correction. Cauliflower ear, if left untreated and trauma continues it can cause a closure of the ear canal blocking the opening to the ear and hearing will be sacrificed. Cauliflower ear can also swell to a point of rupturing and if infected can lead to amputation of the outer ear. All of this can be avoided by checking into a simple procedure to correct the ear or ears that are suffering from any of the forms of protruding ears.

Steel and composite safety toe footwear is regulated by a strict standards and compliance system. The components of the shoe must meet testing specifications to be designated as safety footwear. Steel toe footwear is classified with an ANSI or ASTM rating that confirms the footwear meets these safety standards. Whether the shoe is steel toe or composite toe, it will be required to meet the same safety standards.
Significance
ANSI is an abbreviation for the American National Standards Institute. This organization coordinates voluntary national standards in the private and public sector. These standards relate to products, services, processes, systems and personnel. The classification of ANSI 75 in relation to steel toe footwear refers to the impact and compression forces the safety toe is rated to protect against. Steel and safety toe footwear are rated between the level of ANSI 41 and ANSI 75.
Features
The ANSI rating of 75 is separated into two distinct safety measurements. The rating of I/75 means the steel toe is tested to withstand an impact rating of 75 lb. If the steel toe withstands the force of a 75-pound weight dropped from 3 feet in height, it will achieve this classification. The rating of C/75 means the steel toe is tested to withstand a compression rating of 75, which is equal to 2,500 lb. of pressure.
History
The ANSI rating system in the safety toe industry has been replaced with the ASTM standards classification. ASTM, previously known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, is now the premiere standards organization internationally. As of 2005, manufacturers have been phasing out the ANSI rating in their inventory in deference to the new standard system of the ASTM. As the actual testing methods for these standards have not changed, the ANSI rated steel toe should not be considered inferior in safety qualifications to the newer ASTM rating system.
Identification
The ASTM has allowed for manufacturers to continue to produce footwear using existing inventory tags with the ANSI rating system. The ANSI rating of 75 falls under the ANSI Z75, Standard for Personal Protection Protective Footwear, which has been replaced by the new ASTM International standards entitled F2412-05 Standard Test Methods for Foot Protection and F2413-05 Standard Requirements for Protective Footwear. Any of these ratings can be found inside the tongue or interior sides of standards compliant safety footwear. Common phrasing you will find on compliant footwear is "engineered to meet or exceed ASTM standards for safety toe footwear." Many manufacturers still include the ANSI standard specifications in addition to the ASTM ratings.
Misconceptions
Testing has proven that a compliant steel toe is much safer than the alternative. The misconception that extreme weights will cause the steel toe to crush and amputate the wearers toes is categorically false. The weight required to crush a steel toe would also easily crush an unprotected foot, effectively amputating the toes. In most cases, the engineering of the steel toe causes the impact force to be redirected.
Thumb sucking allows babies a way to self-soothe and often makes for a happy baby. It may also be considered cute, but being informed about the long term effects on the child's teeth is important as well.
Background
Thumb sucking is a natural reflex for babies, but prolonged thumb sucking may cause problems. The American Dental Association suggests parents stop the habit by the age of four, feeling that no harm is done on developing baby teeth.
Dental Arch
According to the University of Iowa, thumb sucking that continues after the age of two can create changes to the child's dental arch, pushing the top teeth forward and narrowing the upper arch.
Open Bite
An open bite is created when the front teeth are pushed outward. Teeth on top no longer touch the bottom teeth even when the mouth is closed. This is often caused by thumb sucking.
Crooked Teeth
Misaligned teeth and protruding front teeth are a frequent result of thumb sucking, often resulting in poor self image when the child is older. Crooked teeth are also more difficult to keep clean, often resulting in tooth decay.
Speech Problems
The changes in the jaw and teeth made by thumb sucking can create speech problems such as tongue thrust, a lisp or general articulation problems.

Strokes affect movement by damaging parts of the brain. As a result of lessened movement ability, the muscles in the body can atrophy, including the muscles in the ankles. The ankles are important for walking, as they connect the leg and foot. Use ankle strength exercises to nurse your muscle back to shape. Depending on the severity of your stroke, you may wish to modify these exercises to suit your own strength and abilities. Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
Ankle Dorsiflexion
Lie flat on your back, and lay a towel underneath your left calf. Keep your legs straight and relax by breathing deeply. Carefully point your toe out as far as you can. Hold this pose for 10 seconds or as long as you feel comfortable. Relax your foot for five seconds. Keep your breaths deep, slow and relaxed. These breaths will keep your body well-oxygenated. Pull your toes as far back towards your body as you can. Hold this pose for 10 seconds. If necessary, hold your foot with your hands. Relax your foot for five seconds. Do 10 reps of these with each leg. This exercise will help increase your ankle muscle strength.
Foot Inversion
Sit in a chair with your back straight. Turn your left foot toward your right foot as far as you can. Find your comfort zone, and move slightly beyond it. Don't go too far or you'll strain your muscles. Hold your ankle in this position for 10 seconds. Breathe deeply. Move your left food in the opposite direction as far as you can. Again, try to move just a little bit beyond your comfort zone. Hold this pose for 10 seconds. Move your foot back to a straight position. Do this exercise with your right foot. Alternate each foot for a total of 10 times per foot. This exercise will help increase your ankle's range of motion.
Ankle Circles
Sit in a chair. Keep your back pushed firmly against the back of the chair. Pick your left foot up in the air. Breathe deeply, and hold your foot in the air for five seconds. Slowly move your foot in a clockwise motion in the air. Do five circles before letting your foot relax. Lift your right food, and do the same exercise. Repeat five reps twice for each foot. This exercise will help increase your range of motion and build strength in your ankle. It is one of the more difficult exercises to do, as you must hold your leg up and move your ankle at the same time. It is also one of the most effective ankle exercises.
Table Stretches
Stand in front of a table with your hands on the table top. Your hands will help keep your balance during this exercise. Slowly raise yourself up to your tiptoes, with your heel held as high up in the air as you can manage. Hold this pose for 10 seconds. Lower yourself to the ground, and rest for five seconds. Lift your left heal, and hold it for 10 seconds, lowering again for five. Lift your right for the same duration and rest. Lift both of your heals for the same duration and rest. Make sure you alternate between left, right, and both heels for a total of 10 lifts for each. This exercise is the most demanding exercise on this list, so only do it after you have mastered the earlier exercises or feel strong enough to handle it.

Non-small cell lung cancer is one of two types of lung cancer. It is associated with a history of smoking and radon exposure, according to the National Cancer Institute. There are six primary treatments for non-small cell lung cancer, depending on the extent of the disease and the overall health of the patient.
Instructions
1. Treat your cancer with surgery. There are four types of surgical treatment for non-small cell lung cancer: wedge resection, lobectomy, pneumonectomy and sleeve resection. Your oncologist and surgeon will select the most appropriate surgical treatment based on your specific case.
2. Undergo radiation therapy, a type of treatment that kills cancer cells or prevents them from growing through the use of high-energy x-rays. According to the National Cancer Institute, radiation therapy is used in lieu of surgery in patients who are ineligible for surgical treatment.
3. Try chemotherapy to prevent your non-small cell lung cancer from spreading. Chemotherapy involves the use of drugs to kill cancer cells and prevent them from dividing. This treatment can be used alone or in combination with other treatment options.
4. Ask your oncologist if laser therapy may be an effective treatment for your cancer. In some cases, a laser beam can be directed at a tumor or cluster of cancer cells to kill them.
5. Opt for photodynamic therapy if your tumors are on or just beneath the lining of your internal organs or skin. This treatment uses a drug and a laser to target and kill non-small cell lung cancer cells.
6. Take a medication designed to target your cancer cells and prevent them from growing or spreading. According to the American Cancer Society, drugs that target tumor blood vessel growth and medications that target a protein known as epidermal growth factor receptor have both shown promise in treating non-small lung cancer.
7. Eat a healthy, balanced diet while undergoing treatment for non-small cell lung cancer. It is also important to get as much rest as possible to encourage your body to heal and to help minimize the side effects of your treatment.

A toned, youthful looking body is wanted by everyone, and it's not just toned abs or legs that we want. We want the face, chin and neck to look toned also. A double chin, however, seems to be the hardest area to tone up. You don't have to run to a surgeon, though, and spend thousands of dollars. There are a few exercises you can do at home to firm up your chin, and you can try a "chin wrap" made at home to give a temporary face lift, all without surgery.
Instructions
Getting Rid of a Double Chin With Exercise
1. One of the best ways to get rid of a double chin is through exercise. The chin is an overlooked area when it comes to an exercise or fitness program. To begin your exercise, sit in a straight chair with your spine pressed against the back of the chair.
2. Relax your shoulders and don't strain your neck.
3. Tilt your head back. Point your chin toward the ceiling.
4. Open your mouth slightly, and press your bottom jaw out toward the ceiling even further. (Your bottom teeth will jut out farther than your top teeth). Hold this position for 10 seconds.
5. Relax the jaw for 5 seconds, then repeat. Work up to 15 repetitions.
Getting Rid of a Double Chin With a Chin Wrap
6. Grapefruit oil is used in many home detox recipes, as it aids in drawing toxins out of the system. If you have a chin that is exceptionally large, this process may not give you such noticeable results, although it will give some.
7. Add 8 drops of essential grapefruit oil to 1/3 cup of olive oil. Stir.
8. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture, and then rub the mixture on your chin, covering your entire chin.
9. Wrap your chin in plastic wrap, starting at the top of your head, then down around your chin. Continue wrapping until your chin is completely wrapped tightly. (Make sure that the wrapping is done evenly, as the tightness of the wrap will make a difference in the outcome).
10. Wrap a towel around your wrapped chin, and relax for 45 minutes, keeping the chin area warm.
11. After 45 minutes, remove the plastic wrap and rinse the oil off your chin with warm water. Pat dry.

The aircraft cabin pressure and dry cabin air can exacerbate some conditions, such as cardiopulmonary disease, cerebrovascular disease, anemia and sickle cell disease. People with chronic disease should consult their doctors before traveling.
Deep-Vein Thrombosis
Prolonged inactivity can increase the risk for deep-vein thrombosis, the formation of blood clots in a vein. Walking up and down the aisle every half hour and drinking plenty of water can help reduce this risk.
Ear Pain
Rapid cabin air pressure changes during takeoff and landing often cause intense ear pain. Swallowing, chewing gum and yawning can relieve this pain.
Communicable Diseases
Healthy travelers may be exposed to communicable diseases from other passengers. People who are infectious should avoid air travel, and all passengers should wash their hands often and cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze.
Jet Lag
Crossing time zones can cause jet lag, which can involve headaches, upset stomach, nausea and difficulty in sleeping. Getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water can reduce these effects.
