If you find these symptoms, see your doctor.
The causes of bladder cancer are uncertain, but certain factors can increase the chance of getting bladder cancer. Fifty percent of cases of bladder cancers in males are linked to smoking. Men working with dye, rubber, aluminum and leather as well as truck drivers are more likely to get bladder cancer. Knowing the symptoms will help catch bladder cancer in the early stages.
Urinary Problems
Having urinary problems, including bloody urine, pain while urinating, frequent urination and a sudden urge to urinate are all symptoms of bladder cancer. In men, these symptoms alone could also be a problem with the prostate. If you do have bladder cancer, these symptoms will be present.
Abdominal Pain
Once the cancerous tumor has begun to grow, it can cause abdominal pain. The tumor can push on other organs and muscles in the pelvis and abdomen. This pressure causes noticeable pain in the abdomen. These symptoms could also indicate a problem with the prostate.
Anemia and Lethargy
Anemia, along with lethargy, can be caused by bladder cancer. Anemia occurs when the body cannot make enough red blood cells. Anemia and lethargy are often linked together because lethargy can be caused by not having enough oxygen brought to the cells of the body. Anemia will also cause excessive bleeding. Bladder cancer is not the only thing that can cause anemia and lethargy; but if you have these symptoms, along with the urinary and abdominal symptoms, see your doctor right away.
