Increase Seminal Volume Naturally

Lifestyle choices for general health also aid fertility.

Multiple factors determine a man's fertility. Most men produce between 2 to 5 ml of semen per ejaculation. Producing less than 1.5 ml can negatively affect your fertility. To conceive successfully, the sperm must also have a normal shape, be alive and have motility. If you and your partner have trouble conceiving, see a fertility specialist. Men who have a low seminal volume can increase it naturally through a healthy diet and other lifestyle changes.

Instructions

Lifestyle Changes

1. Refrain from using tobacco and illicit drugs, and consume alcohol only in moderation. These substances can contribute to a low seminal volume.

2. Talk to your doctor about your medications. Some drugs can interfere with the production of sperm, such as medicines for cancer or an enlarged prostate. Do not stop taking a prescribed medication without consulting your doctor.

3. Engage in cardiovascular exercise to encourage sperm production, but do not work out to the point of exhaustion.

4. Maintain a normal scrotal temperature. Avoid taking hot baths, using a sauna or riding a bicycle for longer than 30 minutes. If you use a laptop, do not place it on your lap. All of these activities can increase your temperature, which can lower sperm production.

Dietary Changes

5. Consume filtered or bottled water because tap water may sometimes contain pesticides or other chemicals that can lower sperm count.

6. Add foods with vitamins C and E to your diet. These include strawberries, spinach, tomatoes, wheat germ, whole grains and avocados.

7. Take an omega-3 fatty acid supplement. Fish oil may help improve fertility.

8. Supplement your diet with a multivitamin to provide your body with sufficient nutrients like vitamins C and E.
