Stress is a normal part of life that everyone has to deal with from time to time. When stress becomes a part of your everyday life, your health can be affected. Learning the symptoms of stress can help you identify and manage problems.


Emotional Symptoms


Feelings of depression, loneliness, irritability, agitation and moodiness are all emotional symptoms of stress.


Behavioral Symptoms








Biting your nails, eating more or less, sleeping too much or not enough, and isolating yourself are common behavioral symptoms.


Physical Symptoms


Stress can actually make you physically sick. Nausea, aches and pains, chest pain, diarrhea and dizziness are examples of physical symptoms that can be caused by stress.


Cognitive Symptoms


One of the most common symptoms of stress is constant worrying. Memory loss, being pessimistic, exhibiting poor judgment and not being able to concentrate are also signs of stress.


Dependence Issues


Dependence on alcohol or drugs to help you forget your problems also may be symptoms of stress. Smoking excessively may also be a symptom.
