Heal A Toothache

Many people dread going to the dentist, but when a toothache occurs it causes unbearable pain, and something must be done. There are several ways to ease a toothache until you can see a dentist. There is usually a reason for getting a toothache. Your dentist can make this diagnosis.

Instructions

Steps

1. Get clove oil at the drugstore and apply the oil to the tooth. This will temporarily numb the tooth. Be sure not to put it on the gums or apply too much as it can be poisonous when too much is ingested.

2. Ice or cool the area on the cheek outside the tooth using an ice pack to reduce swelling around the tooth. If the tooth is sensitive to extreme temperatures, it is probably best not to do this step.

3. Keep your head up as much as possible. Laying it back applies more pressure in the head, which can make the pain worse or make it feel like your head is throbbing.

4. Take a garlic clove and hold it against the tooth for about five minutes. Wash your mouth out with warm salt water, being sure to gargle it around your mouth before spitting it out. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and will help to ease the pain of the tooth as well as heal it, and salt water will wash and disinfect your mouth.

5. See the dentist as soon as possible.
