Treat Belly Bloat

1. Get up, and get moving. The worst thing you can do for bloating is to sit still. You don't have to jog or run since it most likely will be painful while in this condition, but a stroll set at a comfortable pace can help get your digestive system going. You'll start to feel some relief when your body is in motion.

2. Drink lots of water. It might seem counter-intuitive to fill up your stomach even more, but water flushes out your system. It encourages a faster removal of waste. Don't chug it all at once; drink it gradually and in small amounts.

3. Try ginger tea. To get the best benefit, buy some fresh ginger root. Peel off the skin, chop into small pieces and place in a tea cup. Pour boiling water over the pieces. Cover the cup with a plate to maximize the brewing process. Keep covered for 10 minutes, then remove the plate and fish out the pieces of ginger with a spoon. Drink immediately.

4. Try eating fruits or vegetables with lots of fiber to relieve constipation. Don't overdo it though, especially if you are not used to eating a lot of fiber, as this can caused more constipation. Try a single apple, a ripe pear or 3/4 cup of berries to get things going.

5. Stretch, and breathe deeply. Listening to your body can help to heal it. Take note of what is truly making you feel bloated, and release your feelings both verbally and with physical activity.

6. Seek medical attention if your bloat does not subside. It might a symptom of a more complex condition. More than likely, it will quickly go away.
