2. See a doctor immediately. If you suspect that you or your children have contracted measles, go to your doctor immediately. Catching measles early will help to reduce any of the effects of the virus.








3. Use antiviral drugs. While this type of medication is often only available through hospitals, taking antiviral medicine can help to fight measles and reduce any effects of the virus.


4. Get plenty of rest. When your body is infected with measles, one of the important ways to get rid of the virus is to repair your body through sleep. Getting plenty of rest with help your body to fight off the virus and reduce the long term effects.








5. Treat the symptoms. By treating the pain and fever that is caused by measles, you will be able to treat the virus as well. Take pain relievers and fever reducers to help eliminate the measles.
