Lose Weight With The South Beach Diet

Lose Weight With the South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet is built around eating whole grains, fruits, vegetables, olive or canola oil, and meats such as poultry or fish. The diet focuses on eating the right carbohydrates rather than avoiding them. Here's lose weight with the South Beach Diet.

Instructions

1. Sign up for the South Beach Diet by visiting the website (see Resources below). Click the "Sign Up Now" link at the homepage to enter your email, address, height, current weight and your target weight-loss goal. Buy the book about the diet online or at a bookstore if you prefer.

2. Start with Phase 1, which lasts for two weeks. Eat foods such as chicken, turkey, fish and shellfish or tofu. Eggs, low-fat cheese, nuts, beans and vegetables should also be a part of your diet during this stage. Avoid eating bread, rice potatoes, pasta, fruit or sweets during these two weeks.

3. Slowly reintroduce carbohydrates into your diet after you've completed the first phase. Fruit, whole-grain breads and pastas are the right choices to add to your meals daily for one week. Continue until you can eat two to three servings of these carbs a day. Unlike Phase 1, there is no time limit for Phase 2. You can stick with Phase 2 until you've reached your weight-loss goal.

4. Move to Phase 3, where the focus is on combining everything you've learned from Phases 1 and 2. Try different recipes using "The South Beach Diet Cookbook" or another cookbook that uses the same healthful foods. Overall, your goal is to maintain or lose more weight and manage your health.
