Oil Pulling Instructions

Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic therapy.

Oil pulling is an alternative therapy consisting of swishing 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth for 20 minutes to remove toxins from your body. Oil pulling was developed by Dr. F. Karach. This alternative therapy has healing benefits. Migraine headaches, arthritis, bronchitis and heart disease are some the ailments that can be eliminated by oil pulling. Healthier gums and cleaner teeth are also a benefit of this therapy. Oil pulling is a safe and inexpensive home remedy.

Instructions

1. Pour exactly 1 tablespoon of sunflower or sesame oil into your mouth. This should be done first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Other oils can be used; however, sunflower and sesame have shown to be the most effective.

2. Swish the oil in your mouth for 20 minutes. Suck the oil through your teeth while your jaws are relaxed. Use your tongue to help move the oil around your mouth. The oil will begin to get thinner as it mixes with your saliva.

3. Spit the oil into the toilet after 20 minutes. The oil will be thicker when you spit it out, which is normal. There are toxins in the oil from your body; avoid spitting it into the sink.

4. Rinse your mouth with warm water and spit it out into the toilet.

5. Rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash or a solution of equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water. This will remove toxins left behind in your mouth.
