Natural Wellness Cures With Chiropractic

Dr. Greg Gingell has practiced the art and science of chiropractic for nearly 28 years. In a recent interview, he described chiropractic as striving to restore proper neurologic function by eliminating subluxation, the condition whereby the spinal column loses its proper structure and, therefore, proper function. The spinal column protects the spinal cord, which transmits neural messages between body and brain.

Asthma and Allergies

Many children and adults suffer from asthma or allergies. Traditional treatment involves antihistamines and decongestants to stem symptoms. Chiropractic aims to treat the cause, says Dr. Gingell: "Our office has had exceptionally good results in treating upper and lower thoracic subluxations and related allergic and asthmatic issues." He uses a series of device-assisted adjustments developed in Japan for this treatment.

Earaches and Colic

Some of Dr. Gingell's regular patients are too young to explain how chiropractic has helped them, but it's obvious all the same. Colic in infants is one of the conditions chiropractors can help. Even an uncomplicated birth can cause physical trauma to a newborn. Restoration of proper spinal alignment can help eliminate colic, and can do the same for recurring ear infections in older children, reducing the need for repeated courses of antibiotics.

Pain Relief

One of the most common complaints a chiropractor hears is the need for pain relief. Traditional pain relief medicine typically attacks the symptoms with medications ranging from acetaminophen to narcotic pain relievers. Over the course of a lifetime, patients suffer falls, sports injuries, automobile accidents or poor posture, which, when added up, can lead to improper spinal function. Chronic spinal dysfunction can lead to bulging, herniated or ruptured discs. According to Dr. Gingell, depending on the severity of the issue and how soon treatment is started, a patient of chiropractic "can expect complete resolution of the condition and restoration of a normal lifestyle."

Overall Health

Dr. Albert Schweitzer said, "Each patient carries his own doctor inside him." Chiropractic aims to help that doctor within each of us function in the complex, extraordinary way in which it was designed, and all without the use of drugs or invasive techniques like surgery. Regular chiropractic care beginning early in life enhances body function for a healthier lifetime.
