What Are The Treatments For Candida Vaginitis

Candida vaginitis is another name for a yeast infection. Yeast infections are caused by an overgrowth of yeast cells that naturally occur on and around the body. There are many ways to treat yeast infections, ranging from prescriptions to home remedies.

Ttioconazole or Butoconazole

These are the medications in over-the-counter products such as Monistat or Femstat. Women can purchase this medication at drug stores and insert it at home for private relief.

Diflucan

Diflucan is a prescription pill containing a powerful systemic anti-fungal medication. The dose is only one pill and must be obtained from a doctor.

Genetian Violet

Genetian violet is a topical anti-fungal treatment used for yeast infections, jock itch, large wounds and burns. It's painted on and around the vulva, and inserted into the vagina on a tampon.

Yogurt

Yogurt contains lactobacillus acidophilus, which naturally produces candida-fighting hydrogen peroxide. It's inserted by dipping a tampon in plain yogurt.

Garlic

Garlic has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that kill yeast and increase vaginal PH. One clove is placed in the vagina each night, then removed each morning until the infection is gone.
