Tell everyone you know, especially the ones you drink with that you will not be around any events where alcohol is around for a while and follow through on this. 2. The second step to quit drinking cold turkey is to get rid of anything alcohol related from your house. Drinks, bottle, posters, coasters...anything. Give it to a friend to keep or hang on to until you can resist the urge.


3. The third tip to quit drinking cold turkey is to get a new hobby. Create a vision wall of five things you have always wanted to do and put it in your bathroom (hobbies, travel, jobs, cars, learn a language... anything). Every time you go to the restroom look at it for 30 seconds and think of ways to accomplish those goals. This serves as two purposes. One is to get your mind off booze and the other is to keep yourself motivated to happiness in life.


4. Once you have went a couple months with out being around alcohol you can start to test the waters. Go to a friends house or a small party and see if you can resist the urge. Once you accomplish this you can move up to larger parties and even bars. You can become the dd of the friend circle!
