Make Natural Face Creams

Make Natural Face Creams

The cosmetics and beauty market is saturated with creams, lotions, serums and gels--all claiming to be able to make you look younger and more beautiful. Before the rise of retail, Mother Nature had a pretty good handle on the beauty business, filling her fields and forests with everything you need for healthy, radiant skin. Try mixing up this homemade face cream of pure, unprocessed back-to-nature ingredients.

Instructions

1. Make sure all ingredients are room temperature. Wash and dry your bowls and spoons so that no bacteria or dirt is mixed into your face cream.

2. Combine the base oil, coconut oil and beeswax in the top pot of the double boiler. Boil on low heat until the mixture is smooth and melted.

3. Pour the mixture in a mixing bowl and set it aside. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

4. Combine the distilled water, aloe vera gel, vitamin E, vitamin A and the essential oil or oils of your choice in a bowl. With your hand mixer, blend at the highest speed.

5. As you continue to blend at the highest speed, slowly add the cooled grape seed oil mixture. Blend until the mixture is thick.

6. Place the completed face cream in your clean jars and store them in a cool place. If you are planning on giving the cream as a gift, or you are not going to use it right away, you can store it in the refrigerator.
