1. Try inhaling the steam from boiled water, or vaporizers, which are very helpful in breaking up thick mucus. Inhaling the vapors offers temporary relief to the pain and pressure caused by the infection.


2. Use a neti pot. Fill the neti pot with warm water, mixed with a bit of salt. Pour some of the solution into one nostril, allowing it to flow through and out the other.


3. Drink a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar at the onset of an ear infection. It's medicinal properties can help fight the infection.


4. Ingest a garlic capsule with some water. Garlic is believed to have positive effects on numerous infections that can happen in the body.








5. Get a facial massage. The oil used for a facial massage can be menthol based when requested. Eucalyptus oil, especially, can be very soothing and help with mucus. While the massage itself applies pressure to the sinus ducts causing them to drain.


6. Drink cranberry juice. Cranberry juice is a natural antibiotic that can help remedy the infection.
