Keep reading to find out eat healthy at Golden Corral.

Instructions

1. Resist the buffet temptation. Golden Corral has a ton of healthy choices, but you must understand a bit about portion control. Fill up your plate with healthy options, and when your plate is clean, stop eating. Fight the urge to go back for seconds, as this is when the majority of the excess calories will get you.

2. Skip the rolls. Each roll has 195 calories and can eat into your diet quickly.

3. Start off with veggies and a light salad. A half cup of marinated vegetables has only 47 calories and 2 grams of fat. A nice salad of mixed greens with fat-free dressing is also a great way to start your meal off right. Steer clear of pre-made salads like chicken or tuna, as these can easily have 250 calories a serving.

4. Choose a smart protein. Chicken breast, pot roast, fish or even a steak can all be a healthy part of your Golden Corral meal. Remember to keep your portions small and expect to spend at least 250-300 calories on a protein of your choice. Avoid breaded and deep-fried options.

5. Drink water and save room for dessert. Water has no calories, and will give you more wiggle room for a light dessert. Eat some sugar-free gelatin, which has only 10 calories, or splurge on an oatmeal bar or some sugar-free strawberry cake (120 calories). Or fresh fruit is always a healthy option.
