Hating your job can make the rest of your life miserable
Work can be an opportunity to do what you love and get paid for it. It can also be a constant cause of stress, anger and frustration in your life. If it was always fun, then it would not be called work; however, if you find that your job is making you miserable more often than not, it may be time to rethink your career path.
You Dread It
If you are not doing what you love for a living, you will likely feel unsatisfied and never reach your full potential. You will probably also loathe the idea of waking up on Monday mornings. Whether the root cause is hating your boss or being unchallenged in your position, dreading the start of your workday and watching the clock all day are both telltale signs you need to look elsewhere for work. If you are going through the motions of the daily grind, it may be time to explore other opportunities or even different career paths.
It Makes You Sick
Everyone has bad days, but if your job constantly leaves you feeling stressed out and exhausted, it is time to start the job hunt. Many people work long, hard hours, which can cause minor annoyances such as neck pain and headaches, as well as more severe problems such as anxiety or depression. It is a fact that stress kills, and your health is far more important than your next meeting or project deadline.
You're Not Motivated
Hating your job will likely lead to you being less productive and avoiding work, showing up late, taking longer breaks or abusing sick days. This will cause you to fall behind on your work, which will cause the quality of your work to decrease and may increase frustration. If you find that your work ethic is waning or you are purposely avoiding work or distracting yourself while you are supposed to be working, you may need to seek other employment.
You Feel Unappreciated
Having problems with co-workers or bosses can cause you to hate your job. Even worse than feeling unappreciated at work is feeling disrespected. Being treated unfairly, working with incompetent people or getting passed up for promotions can cause you to feel unappreciated at work. If you are being harassed, bullied or are simply the subject of frustrating office drama, you must start seeking a new position and possibly consult a lawyer to deal with the issue.
