Give A Face Massage

Anyone who has ever had a face massage knows how relaxing it can be, but there are two additional benefits of face massage--softer skin and toned muscles. Massaging the face also encourages sebum production. Sebum assists with keeping skin cells moisturized. Face massage stimulates blood circulation as well and keeps skin looking young and radiant. A face massage is relatively easy to do. The following steps will guide you through the process.

Instructions

Initial Steps

1. Have volunteer lie on table.

2. Stand comfortably behind volunteer’s head.

3. Tuck volunteer’s hair into turban, making sure no strands of hair are left out.

4. Pour oil into palm of one hand and gently rub hands together to spread oil over the palms and fingers of both hands.

5. Stroke volunteer’s face in an upward motion to spread oil, starting at the neck and then moving to the cheeks, along the sides of the nose and to the forehead. Run fingers over chin, along top of upper lip and along tops of cheekbones to spread oil evenly.

Massaging With Momentum

6. Place both hands flat on forehead, fingertips pointed toward nose, and glide fingers outwards and toward temples, holding fingers gently against temples for a few moments. Do this five times.

7. Draw tiny circles around eyes with the ends of the middle fingers, starting about three-quarters of an inch below the corner of each eye, working your way across cheekbones and to temples, holding fingers gently against temples for a few moments.

8. Using all fingers, slide hands from jaw line, upward and over one cheek, alternating hands. Repeat five alternating strokes, and then do the same to the other cheek.

9. Starting at center of top lip, gently slide middle fingers along outer edge of top lip, stopping at corners of mouth. Repeat five times.

10. Starting at center of bottom lip, gently slide middle fingers along outer edge of bottom lip, stopping at corners of mouth. Repeat five times.

11. Gently place thumb and forefinger of both hands at the center point of chin. With jawbone between fingers, slide thumbs and forefingers from center point of chin to end of jaw line. Repeat five times.

12. Gently tap the ends of the fingers all over face, circling eyes and tapping eyebrows.

13. Gently rest fingers on temples for a few moments to end massage.
