Signs Of A Stroke Coming On

A stroke is a total or partial block of blood to any part of the brain. When the brain cells can't get a steady supply of blood, they can start to become damaged or die in just minutes. Strokes can cause death or serious brain damage, so it's wise to recognize the signs quickly before lasting damage can occur.

Walking-Related Signs

Having trouble with staying balanced, feeling uncoordinated or stumbling around are signs of a stroke.

Sight-Related Signs

When a stroke is coming on, a person may have blurry vision or double vision.

Painful Signs

Pain in the head, neck or face are signs of a stroke.

One-Sided Movement Limitations

Having trouble moving body parts either on the left or right side (but not both) are stroke symptoms. This trouble can involve just a numb feeling or not being able to move one side of the body at all.

Speech-Related Signs

Slurring words or not being able to speak at all are signs of a stroke coming on.
