Clay
The theory behind using clay for internal cleansing is that clay will bind to toxins in the body and be eliminated through the stool, thereby improving overall health by removing the toxins. Clay is not absorbed by the intestines or the bloodstream and stimulates the bowels to move food and stool through the body. Always consult a doctor before beginning any internal cleansing program.
Instructions
1. Before ingesting clay, make sure your stomach is empty. This can be accomplished by waiting one to three hours after eating or drinking anything before consuming clay. You should also wait one to three hours after taking any medication before eating or drinking clay.
2. Choose your method of consuming clay. You can eat hydrated clay products, drink liquefied clay or mix clay powder with water. You can find these products at most natural health stores or specialty vitamin stores. Follow all instructions carefully to prevent stomach irritation and bloating.
3. Ingest clay once a day for at least one week to thoroughly cleanse the system. You may wish to stay close to home the first day until you know how your body will react to the clay and how quickly you might need to use the bathroom.
4. Stay very well-hydrated when doing an internal cleanse. Drink at least eight glasses or more of water each day.
