Losing weight doesn’t have the be a chore and it certainly doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. By trading some negative food and exercise habits for some positive ones, you’ll see the weight drop off while your wallet remains fat. Incorporating the following practical steps into your daily routine will help you lose weight without spending extra money on expensive nutritional plans and exercise programs.

Lose Weight Without Spending Extra Money
1. Stop buying junk food. Chips, cookies, and candies are convenience foods and that means they're not only unhealthy, but they're also expensive. Pass up the chip and cookie departments of the supermarket and gather some fresh fruits instead. A bag of cookies and a bag of apples cost about the same but those nutritious apples will leave you fuller longer than those sugar laden cookies.
2. Trade the bread for rice cakes. Rice cakes are really very tasty and can satisfy your urge to crunch on something. With new flavors hitting the shelves every couple of weeks, you're sure to find one you like. Often a bag of rice cakes is cheaper than a loaf a bread and they're better for you. If you can't live without the bread, however, opt for whole wheat reduced calorie bread. It has half the calories of traditional white bread and twice the fiber for only a few pennies more.
3. Pack your lunches. Don't give yourself the opportunity to be tempted by burgers and fries at lunch time. You can pack a low-fat lunch for a fraction of what you pay at a fast food restaurant and you'll save yourself between 500 and 2000 calories!
4. Drink diet soda instead of regular soda. Every 8 oz. glass of soda you drink tacks on 100 calories to your daily calorie intake. Doesn't sound like much? Think of that 36 oz. soda you get from fast food restaurants. If you drink it all, you'll add an extra 450 calories to your midday meal. Diet soda costs the same as regular soda and it doesn't contain any calories.
5. Walk or jog for exercise. Walking or jogging can help you lose weight quickly. It raises the heart rate and boosts metabolism as it burns fat. While any form of physical exercise will help you lose weight, a long walk doesn't require any special equipment or expensive workout gear. All you need is a water bottle and a safe place to walk.
6. Order from the children's or senior's menu when you eat out. These less expensive entrées are smaller than regular menu items so you'll not only eat less, but you'll save money.
