Choose A Detox Diet

Detox diets, or cleansing diets, are gaining in popularity. You choose a detox diet to rid your body of toxins and poisons. Not all detox diet plans are the same and you should review each plan with much scrutiny to ensure you are getting your proper dietary needs met.

Instructions

1. Target the area needing detoxification. Common detoxification diets are specific to a certain part of your body like the "Liver Cleansing Diet" or a colon cleanse, while others may address an overall problem your body is dealing with like water retention.

2. Select the amount of time you wish to commit to a cleanse or detox diet. For many detox diets, the time suggested runs from a week or 10 days on most plans and up to 21 days on a more intense detoxification diet.

3. Read the plan before you start. Many detoxification diets people use for weight loss have in fact nothing to do with losing weight, for example, the lemonade diet. The purpose of the diet is to flush toxins out of your system, so you're losing fluids, not fat.

4. Choose the "Fat Flush Diet" for both detoxification and weight loss. This diet addresses both the problem of needing an overall cleanse and helps one to lose weight.

5. Follow the diet's regimen until you reach your goals, but don't exceed the allotted diet time frame. Ensure that you're getting the recommended nourishment while on the plan you choose.

6. Quit the plan if you aren't comfortable with the results. Many individuals new to a cleanse find that the process takes some getting used to.
