Migraines are a severe type of headache that can produce immobilizing pain and impair an individual's ability to function. Some people are genetically predisposed to migraines, and they tend to be more prevalent in women. Intense Pain
The characteristic neurological symptom of a migraine is intense pain on one or both sides of the head. This pain may have a consistent, rhythmic throbbing.

Difficulty thinking or concentrating is a common symptom of migraines. Disrupted motor coordination is also typical.
Distorted Vision
Another neurological symptom is blurred or otherwise compromised vision. Some individuals see auras around lights in the early stages of a migraine.
Increased Irritability
Individuals experiencing a migraine become extremely irritable.
Stimuli Sensitivity
Sensitivity to light, noise and tastes may develop as symptoms of a migraine headache.
