Remove A Callus With Tea Tree Oil

Calluses develop on the feet when shoes rub against the skin.

Tea tree oil, which can be purchased at any health food store, is an essential oil that treats bacteria, fungi and viruses. For this reason, it is a natural treatment for many skin ailments, including acne, blisters, burns, warts and calluses. A callus is a thickened mass of dead skin cells that form a bump on the skin when an object repeatedly rubs against the skin. Calluses are most common on hands and feet, and can be unsightly. Before trying a dangerous method of removing the calluses, such as cutting them off with a blade, try removing it with tea tree oil.

Instructions

1. Fill a basin or shallow pan with 2 cups warm water and add 5 drops of tea tree oil.

2. Soak your callus for 15 to 30 minutes.

3. Rub the softened callus with a pumice stone. This may take some time if you have a particularly large callus to remove. If you are unable to remove the entire callus in one try, soak your callus again in the tea tree oil solution.

4. Dry the affected area with a clean towel and apply petroleum jelly. This will help soften any remaining calluses.
