Founded in 1898, Roswell Cancer Center was the first comprehensive cancer center in the United States. Now called the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the center has the distinction of being a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a group of 21 hospitals that specialize in the care of cancer patients and the furtherance of cancer research.

Research
Roswell Cancer Center has research departments performing work on new cancer drugs and vaccines, DNA research and experimental treatments, with an entire team researching prostate cancer causes, cures and prevention.
