2. The best indicator of calcite is the acid test. Calcite will bubble when an acid is placed on the crystal. Use diluted hydrochloric acid to test if the specimen effervesces.


3. Green calcite can be identified by examining the double refraction, which occurs when a light ray enters the crystal. The optical properties of the green calcite makes the light ray split into fast and slow beams. When the two beams exit, they are bent into different angles.


4. Look into the crystal an you will see two images of everything. Place the crystal on a printed word and you will see two words.


5. Calcite is considered as a cleanser of various energies and different colors are linked to specific energies. Green calcite is said to draw money and prosperity to your doorstep and restore emotional balance and stimulate the immune system. Negative energies such as arthritis and bacterial infections are linked to green calcite. The crystal is used by healers to adjust bones and constrictions of ligaments and muscles.
