Brain Integration Therapy

Brain integration therapy is an acupressure program designed to help the brain develop different ways of learning and memorization. Though anyone can engage in brain integration therapy, this type of therapy is mostly designed for those who have behavioral problems or difficulties learning. Brain integration therapists receive their training from other therapists.

Evaluation

Brain integration therapy evaluations last 25 minutes. During these evaluations, corpus calloseum, logic, gestalt processing, visual processing, auditory processing, short term memory, long-term memory, reading and reading comprehension are analyzed to determine what type of acupressure will be necessary. Those who experienced brain damage might not benefit from brain integration therapy because damaged parts of the brain cannot be reactivated.

Technique

Brain integration therapy works by applying pressure to a part of the brain that needs stimulation. Blood flow can be restored to the affected area of the brain, allowing normal brain functioning to be restored. A very light touch is placed on the affected area. This technique is non-invasive and has no harmful side effects.

Considerations

Children receive the most benefit from brain integration therapy after they are 9 years old. Brain integration therapy sessions take one hour for children and four hours for teenagers. Patients do not have to do any exercises at home as the brain adjusts to the acupressure automatically. Also, brain integration therapy usually does not have to be repeated. Individual therapy generally costs $400.
