Get Rid of Boils Naturally
Boils, also called furuncles, are localized swelling and inflammation caused by an infection around nearby tissues, hair follicles or certain areas underneath the skin. When a boil starts to develop, the skin appears red, tender to touch and may feel itchy. Soon enough the infected skin will form a pus-containing white dot with a hard central core--the boil. Skin boils are not life-threatening and can last only a few days when treated immediately. But if boils become severely infected, they can be very painful--and can sometimes lead to swollen lymph nodes and fever. Here are some tips to get rid of boils naturally.

1. Treat your boils using herbal oils. Castor oil and tea tree oil are potent agents for curing boils. Put some castor oil on a warmed betel leaf or on a sterile cotton pad and place it on top of the boil--this helps in expelling the pus out of the boil, which decreases swelling and speeds up healing. Make sure to replace the oil-coated betel leaf or cotton every few hours. Or apply a drop of tea tree oil directly on to the boil every morning after taking a shower. Do this everyday until your infected skin is totally healed.
2. Apply some natural pastes to help cure your boil. Combine a teaspoon of milk cream, half a teaspoon of vinegar and a sprinkle of turmeric powder. Mix it all together until pasty and place the mixture on top of the boil--apply this for 2 to 3 days until your boil is healed. You can also boil half a cup of water, add 2½ teaspoons of cornmeal and mix until it turns pasty. Apply the paste to the boil, leave it there for several minutes and re-apply the paste when it dries. A paste made up of ground cumin seeds and water can also be applied to help cure your boil.
3. Use some leaves for treatment. Boil some parsley leaves in 3 cups of water until they turn soft and juicy. Turn the stove off and take the parsley leaves out of the boiling water and let them settle in a sterile container for a few minutes. When they're tolerably warm enough, place some on your boil and keep them in place by wrapping the area up with a clean cloth. Another effective leaf poultice is the white cabbage leaf. Just peel some leaves off, particularly those on the inner part of the cabbage and wash them with running water. Pat them dry, place them on the boil and wrap them with a sterile bandage to keep them in place. Leave the leaves there for 30 minutes and then replace old leaves with a new batch.
4. Get rid of your boil using onion juice or garlic juice. To make your onion juice, boil some fresh onions within a few minutes. After boiling, place the onions on a clean towel and squeeze their juices out. As for garlic juice, peel a bulb of garlic and place each peeled clove on a food processor. Keep the processor running until the garlic cloves turn creamy and strain the liquid twice. Apply either of these juices on your boil to help drain the pus and promote faster healing. You can also mix both these juices in equal quantities and apply it to your boil.
5. Sip some helpful drinks to heal your boil. Prepare a cup of fresh bitter gourd, mix it with 1 teaspoon of lime juice and consume it before eating something. Sip it slowly. Drinking this mixture will help fight bacteria that cause boils on your skin. Another effective natural drink to treat your boil is a mixture of ground nutmeg and hot water. Mix ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg in hot water and drink this everyday until your boil is totally healed. You can also mix warm water with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and drink it 3 times a day until your boil is completely healed.
6. Try other herbal treatments for boils. Combine a powdered bark of slippery elm with eucalyptus oil and mix them together until pasty. Apply the mixture on your boil and cover it up with a sterile gauze and bandage. You can also roast some turmeric roots and place the ashes on a cup of water. Apply the solution directly on your boil to help drain the pus. Another effective treatment is a mixture of carrots and wheat germ oil. Grate some fresh raw carrots and mix them with 1 tablespoon of wheat germ oil. Apply the mixture on your boil and leave it there for several minutes. Then replace the old mixture with a new one.
