While fast instrumentation can exhibit your skill and spark the adrenaline of your listeners, slowing down portions of your audio projects can help showcase the intricacies of your songs. Stepping the tempo down in portions of your songs can also change the vibe of your tracks and even be used as a bridge. And with the help of Acoustica's Mixcraft application, you can slow down any portion of your audio tracks.
Instructions
1. Launch Mixcraft. Click on the "Open Project" button in the program's toolbar to load an existing project. If you'll be working on a new project, click on the "Add Sound" button to import an audio file.
2. Drag your cursor across the region of the track you'd like to slow down. Click on Mixcraft's "Edit" heading, and then click on the "Split" option to isolate the focal area from the rest of the track. If there is audio left on the other slide of your split region, drag it to the right to make room for the focal area's expansion. Slowing the selected region down will require you to expand it.
3. Hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard. Click on the right edge of the region to be split, and then drag the edge out to the right to increase its length and slow down its speed. Drag any audio to the right of the tempo change back so it's flush with the edge of the altered region.
4. Click on Mixcraft's "File" heading, and then select the "Save as" option to save a new copy of your project.
