Different Changes During Puberty

Puberty is the period of adolescence that girls and boys go through where they physically mature into adult bodies.

Features

Both boys and girls will see an increase in their body hair in the armpits and pubic areas and a thickening of leg hair. Puberty will also cause an increase in height in both boys and girls.

Time Frame

For girls puberty may start as early as nine, but generally around age 11. For boys puberty may begin as early as 11 but generally begins around age 13. The entire process of puberty takes a few years and varies based on the individual.

Warning

An unwelcome change during puberty that both girls and boys experience is acne. In girls acne often precedes the first period and for boys it shows up near the end of puberty, coinciding with the increase in facial hair.

Girls and boys experience puberty changes that are unique. Girl will begin to menstruate, develop breasts and hips, and the labia, clitoris, uterus and vagina will increase in size. Boys' voice will lower and their Adam's apple will become pronounced. The penis and testicles will also increase in size and begin to produce sperm.

Result

After completing puberty and reaching puberty girls and boys will have adult bodies capable of reproducing and sexual arousal.
