Ease Stomach Cramps Caused By Menstruation

Painful menstruation is a common problem for most females. The primary factor that’s causing it is the activity of the hormone produced by the uterus, known as prostaglandin. This hormone causes spasmodic contraction of the uterus (cramps) and levels are known to be higher in women who experience severe cramping pain during their period. Here are some steps that will help relieve stomach cramps during menstruation.

Instructions

1. Apply hot compress to alleviate pain and discomfort.

2. Take some over-the-counter pain medications such as Midol, Tylenol, or ibuprofen (Advil).

3. Herbal supplements like chamomile and peppermint teas will help in relieving cramps.

4. Listen to some soft relaxing music to take your mind off the pain.

5. Apply light massage using some relaxing oil or gel to ease up the cramps.

6. If you have enough strength, do some light activities such as walking or low-impact stretching workouts. These are all safe exercises even if you have your period and are guaranteed to relieve cramps.
