Partial dentures are used when patients still have some of their remaining teeth. The dentures are molded to fit their mouth with holes for their real teeth.

A bridge is a type of denture that's permanent and used when a person is replacing one tooth or more. Crowns are placed on the teeth and the bridge then attached to those crowns.
Process
Prior to placing dentures inside the mouth, the doctor must remove the injured or damaged teeth if they still remain. The doctor then makes a mold of the patient's teeth and uses that to make the dentures.
Time Frame
The length of time it takes to make dentures varies depending on the size and shape of the mouth. In general, it takes from 3 to 6 weeks for the dentures to be fitted and installed.
