Clean Hospital Bathroom Toilets

If you had to guess what is the most germ-infested place in a hospital, you would probably guess the toilet. A toilet has many germs and requires proper deep cleaning. It is not enough to just surface or spot clean a toilet. A hospital is filled with sick people, and germs spread fast. The environmental staff of a hospital must use certain cleaning techniques to protect patients. Cleaning a hospital bathroom toilet requires some preparation. Do not take the task lightly.

Instructions

1. Put on rubber gloves and eye protection to help protect you from harmful germs and back splash.

2. Mix a disinfectant/detergent cleaner into a spray bottle. Follow the instructions on the back of the disinfectant/detergent for mixing directions.

3. Spray all hard surfaces on the outside of the toilet. Spray extra disinfectant/detergent cleaner on high- touch areas, such as the toilet seat and the flush handle.

4. Lower the waterline in the toilet bowl by turning off the water to the toilet and flushing.

5. Spray the inside surface of the toilet bowl.

6. Use your bowl swab to clean the inside of the toilet. Begin swabbing under the rim, working your way down to the trap. Flush the toilet.

7. Go back and wipe down the outside surface of the toilet with a disposable towel, including the toilet seat and flush handle.
