Bladder cancer accounts for the majority of cancer in the urinary collecting system. There are not many visible signs of bladder cancer in women. Any patient displaying symptoms of bladder cancer should consult with their doctor as soon as possible.
Hematuria
Hematuria, or blood in the urine, is one of the first signs of bladder cancer in women. There is often not enough blood in the urine to be visible to the naked eye. When there is enough blood to be visible, it will change the color of the urine to a slight pink or orange.
Pain
Pain or burning while urinating is often a sign of urinary tract infection. Without any other signs of urinary tract infection this could also be an early sign of bladder cancer.
Frequent Urination
Frequent urination or frequent urge to urinate can also be an early warning sign of bladder cancer. This frequent urination can also come with pain.
Nonspecific Symptoms
The primary symptoms of bladder cancer in women are considered nonspecific symptoms. This means that even with all these symptoms a patient does not necessarily have bladder cancer.

Even though these symptoms are nonspecific, patients displaying them need to make an appointment with their doctor. Only a doctor can diagnose bladder cancer.
