Goji Berry Uses

Goji berries are usually cultivated in China. They have been used for hundreds of years as an important ingredient in Chinese herbal medicine. Goji berries are nutritionally rich--containing beta-carotene; vitamins C, B1, and B2; antioxidants; and amino acids. Chinese herbalists combine the nutrients of the Goji berries along with other herbs to combat disease and strengthen the immune system.


Protect The Liver


Goji berries contain betaine. Betaine is used by the liver to produce choline which helps the body to calm nervousness, protects against fatty liver disease and promotes muscles growth.


Strengthen Eyesight


Goji berries have been traditionally use to help enhance vision. The berry contains a high amount of beta-carotene which the body uses to strengthen your eyes and vision.








Enhance Immune System


Goji berries contain physalin, which is an active ingredient used to combat diseases like hepatitis B and leukemia. This ingredient, along with the berries' vitamin content, strengthens the immune system to fight off common colds, as well.


Anti-Inflammatory Agent


The berries also contain beta-sistoserol, which is an anti-inflammatory agent. Beta-sistoserol is one of the ingredients used to treat sexual impotence and control prostate enlargement.








Control Blood Pressure


Goji berries contain the active ingredient cyperone, which helps to control blood pressure. The ingredient cyperone is also used in treatments to combat cervical cancer.
