Treat Hives


Hives often show up on a person's body because of an allergic reaction to something. The hives pop out as red bumps anywhere on the body. These hives may itch like crazy. However, there is something you can do to treat hives and get rid of them; treat hives with Benadryl. Benadryl contains the histamine-blocker diphenhydramine.


Instructions


1. Apply Benadryl's anti-itch cream to the hives. This product will instantly treat any external itching. It is safe for anyone over the age of 2 and can be applied directly to the hives. Don't use this product more than 4 times in one day. Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water after using this product.


2. Spray your hives with Benadryl spray. The spray can be used up to 4 times per day.


3. Treat children's hives Benadryl liquid. Children between the ages of 6 and 11 should take 1 to 2 teaspoons of the product. The amount should be determined by your child's weight. There is a dosing chart on the back of the product.


4. Take Benadryl fastmelts to treat hives. Children ages 6 to 12 should take 1 to 2 tablets, based on their age and weight, while adults should take between 2 to 4 tablets. Refer to the chart on the back of the product to know the exact amount of tablets you should take.


5. Treat hives with Benadryl Kapgels. Children ages 6 to 12 can take one Kapgel every 4 to 6 hours, as needed. Adults and children over the age of 12 can take up to 2 Kapgels at a time. Neither children nor adults should exceed more than 6 doses in a 24 hour time period.
