Hotsy steam cleaner igniter system
Does anyone here have knowledge of how a Hotsy steam cleaner burner works? I have been working on a Hotsy 1260SS steam cleaner. It has been sitting unused for a long time, history unknown. A local pawn shop bought it and hired me to get it running. I fixed the carburetor and fuel issues, then the pump on the burner wouldn't come on. I determined that it needed AC signal from the engine stator to engage the relay that turns power on at the burner pump, and the stator was burned up. I replaced the stator, and now it's charging and the pump comes on. The problem now, is that the burner won't ignite. There is a solenoid that shuts the fuel off at the burner, and it is not getting power and I haven't yet determined where it gets it's power from. I can jump the solenoid and fuel will white smoke out the top of the burner, but it never ignites. I assume because the igniter is not working. It is wired directly to the battery and I am not familiar with how it works. Also, the pump is developing no pressure. There is what appears to be a solenoid mounted on top of the unloader valve, which I assume is why I have no pressure. I have not yet tested it for power, I'm trying to get the burner on first (one thing at a time). Can anyone direct me?
