Types of Side Effects
Possible side effects of Azor include swelling, tingling in your hands or feet, weight changes, feelings of warmth, heart palpitations, skin redness and drowsiness.
Time Frame
Side effects from Azor usually develop during the first few days of use. Many of these side effects decrease over time as your body becomes acclimated to the medicine, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Drug Interactions
Certain drugs increase your risk of side effects while taking Azor, including ibuprofen, antifungal medications, naproxen and St. John's Wort.
Risks
Some patients develop sudden kidney failure while taking Azor. Another potential side effect of Azor is rhabdomyolysis, a condition that causes the breakdown of muscle tissue.
Considerations
Because Azor has the potential to cause birth defects and miscarriages, most doctors prescribe Azor to pregnant women only when there is no safe alternative. If you have a history of angina, heart attack, low blood sodium, or kidney or liver disease, your doctor is not likely to prescribe Azor due to its potential side effects.
