Wayne-Dalton, headquartered in Mt. Hope, Ohio, manufactures consumer door products and accessories, including garage door openers. It released the Quantum series of garage door openers in 2003, but it no longer manufactures this product. You can, however, purchase replacement parts from online third-party vendors. Wayne-Dalton designs its products to last for a long time, but it encourages you to troubleshoot minor issues with your opener if you do have a problem.
Door Opening
If your door does not open completely and the light doesn't flash, check the Open Limit, and reset. Using a screwdriver, turn the screw counterclockwise, and change the setting of the Open Travel to a different setting. If the door does not open and the light flashes, remove any objects blocking the door. Remove the power from the door operator, and manually adjust it until you find the object. Remove any snow or ice from the door. Push and release the door up/down button to augment the opening force. If the door opens up and then the indicator light blinks, adjust the Open Travel.
Opener Not Working
If the door opener won't work from the radio control, replace the battery. Verify that the Security Code is the same on the transmitter and receiver. To change the transmitter code, hold down the Transmitter button until the LED light blinks. Let go of the button, and hold down the Transmitter button again. Let go of the button when the LED light blinks again. You have to change the security code when the LED light blinks three times. Verify that the power cord is plugged into the wall and that a circuit breaker has not tripped if the opener doesn't operate from either the radio control or wall button. Let the motor cool for 20 minutes if tripped. Find a bad wire by disconnecting the wires from the opening and testing them with a voltmeter.
Door Stops
If the door stops and doesn't close, adjust the Close Travel by moving the screw clockwise. If the door closes but then opens back up, check that the opener light flashes. Adjust the door arm by manipulating the rod in the tube. Remove any obstructions from the door. Turn the Close Travel clockwise. If the door stops for one second before fully closing, change out the battery in the wireless infrared safety sensors.
Other Issues
Remove obstructions from the door if it travels in reverse, and change the closing force. Replace the batteries in the wireless safety sensors if the door is in the open position, moves for one second and then reopens. Properly align the infrared safety sensors using a laser alignment tool. If that doesn't work, replace the sensors.
