Get Rid Of Corns

Get Rid of Corns

Corns are small, hardened and thickened parts of skin that are commonly formed in between or on top of the toes. They usually appear as tiny yellow circular patches with a gray-colored spot on the center. Corns are formed due to repetitive rubbing or friction of shoe surfaces against the toes. Wearing shoes that are too tight, especially around the toe area, is one of the leading factors that lead to formation of corns. These mini calluses may not be life-threatening, but they sure can be pretty painful.

Instructions

1. Modify the size of your shoes. This is the easiest way to get rid of corns. Try shoes with wider tips, taller toe boxes and those with softer surfaces to lessen friction. It will also help if you wear well-fitted thick socks on some certain types of shoes.

2. Soak and gently scrub off your corns. Get a small basin and fill it up with water that's hot enough for you to handle. Place some bath salts and bubble soap on the water. Soak your feet on it for 20 to 25 minutes. After soaking, put some baby oil directly on to your corns. And with the use of a pumice stone or a callus brush, gently rub off the rough surfaces of your corns. Remember to only apply mild pressure when you scrub. Rubbing it too hard may only cause irritation. Do this method every day until corns are gone.

3. Apply the garlic treatment. Prepare a clove of garlic and salt. Cut the garlic into small pieces, add a pinch of salt into it and mash it good until it's a bit pasty. Apply it on your corns, enclose it with a band-aid and keep it this way for 3 days. On the third day, when you pull the band-aid off , the dry surfaces of your corns will come off with it too.

4. Try the liquorice cure for corns. Prepare some liquorice sticks and sesame or mustard oil. Grind 4 liquorice sticks until it turns pasty. Add #xBD; teaspoon of sesame or mustard oil on the liquorice, mix them all together and apply it on your corns at night before going to bed. Applying this treatment everyday will help soften the corn and decrease its size until its totally gone.

5. Get rid of corns using aspirin. Prepare aspirin tablets, water and lemon juice. Pulverize 6 aspirin tablets and then add #xBD; teaspoon of water and #xBD; a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix them all together until mixture appears to be a bit sticky. Then apply some on the hardened surfaces of your corns, enclose your feet with a plastic bag and wrap it up with a warm towel. Leave it this way from 10 to 15 minutes. Unwrap your feet and then gently scrub off your corns with a pumice stone or callus brush. With the aid of the mixture, the hardened surfaces of your corns can easily be rubbed off.

6. Use chamomile tea to treat corns. Boil a cup of strong chamomile tea. You can either soak your feet on the tea or just dab some of it specifically on your corns using a cotton ball. After doing any of the two ways, enclose your feet with a plastic wrap. Wear a sock to hold it in place and keep it this way overnight. The tea will help in softening hard surfaces of your corns. It will be easy for you to gently rub your corns off with a coarse hand towel or a callus brush.

7. Treat hardened corn surfaces with oils. Place some tangerine or lemon essential oils 2 to 3 times a day to soften hard corns, making it easier to scrub off. Massage the hardened surfaces of your corns with castor oil for 3 minutes 2 times a day to help clear them off easily. Using tea tree oil with cider vinegar is also an effective way to help treat corns. Simply apply cider vinegar on the corns. Leave it there for 3 minutes and apply tea tree oil.

8. Clear off corns with fruits. Fruits such as papaya and pineapple are excellent in getting rid of corns. Just apply #xBD; a teaspoon of raw papaya juice on your corns 3 times daily until it's totally gone. For the pineapple treatment, just slice a small square from a freshly cut pineapple peel. Put it on the surface of the corns. Keep the pineapple in place by enclosing your feet with a plastic wrap and then wear a sock. Leave it this way overnight.

Tips Warnings

Using acid solutions to get rid of corns are not advisable. It can be unsafe and may cause unwanted infections on your skin that can make your corn problem even worse.

Do not use razor blades to trim your corns off. This may lead to accidental cutting of the skin that can only cause irritation and possible infections.

If your corns are beginning to get unbearably painful or if it still persists even after trying every conservative treatment there is, it is best to just go to your doctor for treatment. Podiatrist can help trim corns off using medical procedures or may recommend minor surgery for severe cases of corns.
