Carburetor Rebuilding Help Needed For Yard Machine

I have a 4 year old yard machine riding mower and if I spray fuel into the carb it will run until the fuel is burned up....so I believe I need to take the carb off and claen it ( Walbro) is their much to taking tihs carb apart and cleaning it up to remove old fuel build up from sittng too long without running it?
Thanks,,,

Could you post model # and engine #, we can go from there

Being a Walbro carburetor on an MTD product, it must be a Briggs engine. But regardless of the ID numbers, generally, you will: Remove the fuel bowl; Remove the float and inlet needle seat (if equipped with a removable/replaceable seat); Remove any fuel adjusting needles (if an adjustable carb); Remove the welch plugs (only if heavy varnish is present, otherwise let them be); Remove the emulsion tube (if removable/replaceable); Remove the choke and throttle shafts (only necessary if either are plastic); Remove all remnants of left-behind gasket material. Once stripped down, soak the carburetor in a good bath type cleaner (I like Napa's # 6402) for 30 minutes if a non-plastic fuel inlet fitting or 15 minutes if plastic fitting. Remove from the basket, spray clean with a carburetor/choke cleaner (I like Briggs part number 100042, blow out passageways with compressed air (60-80 psi is good), and, rebuild with the proper OE repair kit and float, if needed.

it it critical that I replace components with A REBUILD KIT WHEN I TEAR APART TO CLEAN IT...?or can I get away with same components if I am careful?
Thanks,
Rick

model # 13am675G062 Serial # 1D031C20122
THANKS

You can reinstall the old parts but why would you when you have gone to the point of removing and servicing it? The ID numbers you gave are not related to the engine and since you have engine questions, we need engine ID numbers.

Here is a url to a manual for your engine.http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/DocGetter?doc=274271.pdf
It covers several models so you will need to supply the info for parts information. The cover shows where these numbers are on your engine.
